Trinayan , or the third eye, is the nexus of divine energy in each human being. The mission of the Trinayan Collective is to create evocative interpretations of Odissi dance through multi-layered performances; a pastiche of music, movement, spoken-word, story telling, filmic images and sound which culminates in a richly embroidered and nuanced experience. The Trinayan Collective is a group of dancers devoted to the study, performance, and dissemination of Odissi; a dance form renowned for the sensuous curves of its body postures, its deeply spiritual content, and lilting variation on north Indian music. As a collective, we are deeply committed to the creation and sustenance of a non-hierarchical space for artists to collaborate and perform together, sharing their art and their vision.
We trace the thread of Indian classical dance from ancient sculptures and the teachings of gurus to a multitude of traditional and contemporary representations. Employing the rich grammar and structural grace of Odiss i dance, each Trinayan performance transports the audience to a unique moment in space and time.
Dance is a metaphor for existence, an attempt to celebrate and honor the singular moment. We invite you to join this collective experience as the dancer's pulse and ghungroos finds rhythm with and against the primordial vibrations of the earth.

The Collective is formed by a diverse
group of dancers, trained in the lyrical style of Odissi dance for
several years and have come together under the Trinayan umbrella to
share their art and their vision.
